Full Audio Review
When scoping transcripts that have audiosync back-up, I listen to the complete audio file, comparing it to the written transcript from start to finish. I do not spot-check. The appropriate notations are made using our unique scoping abbreviations list developed over time by Premier Scopist. (Click here to see complete list of notations & abbreviations)
Traditional Audio Review
In circumstances where the audio file is not synchronized with the text, I can’t use it for scoping in the usual manner. If necessary, however, we can compare your text files word-for-word to any audio you supply. However, as this is very time-consuming there is an additional charge for this service. When scoping files that don’t have an audio back-up file, I make it a point to read for context – something often overlooked by many scopists. In these circumstances, reading for context is the only way to guarantee that words have not been missed, transposed or inaccurately translated. In these situations I find my ability to read steno of great assistance.
