Unfortunately, most email providers restrict the size of files subscribers can send and/or receive, and the audio files we commonly deal with are far too large to send via conventional email.
To overcome this problem, we recommend that our reporters use the free service offered by www.sendthisfile.com. Most reporters take advantage of this service, but if you’d rather, there are also several paid packages available.
At www.sendthisfile.com, you simply upload your audio and text files (regardless of size) to your own secure, private holding area on their web site.
Once your upload is completed, an email is automatically sent to any party(s) you designate, stating that a file is waiting for them. To start downloading the file, the recipient need only click on the link that’s included in the email.
There’s no extra software to buy and no need to download additional programs. All you need is a high speed internet connection. Believe it or not, it’s as simple as that.
